Final Submissions Are In!

To say the least, we have some very creative and unique friends and family. It was extremely hard to come up with just 5 names. Because of this, we broadened the selection field a bit to 8 names. Some of the names were simple, some had deep meanings, and others were inside jokes that made us laugh. All in all, we had to make a decision, especially when we received 115 names. From all the names submitted, we ended up with the following:

*Sweet Pea - Cute name for a cute bus. The color helps out, too.

*Woot Wagon - Sounds funny. Good name.

*Luigi - White and green character for a white and green bus.

*Jalepeno - Usually green and a common spice for our diet. It fits.

*George - Simple and laid back; just like the bus.

*Hulda - German for sweet and lovable.

*Tig - Has some history behind it, and it's unique.

*Gumby - The goofy claymation character. Plus it's green.

Again, it was extremely tough to narrow down our field with all the names entered. We want to thank everyone for all of your submissions! Vote for your favorite!

Naming the Bus

Sorry I couldn't think of any cool names on my own but I do have some input. I think it should be a german name seeing as it's a VW!!

BEATRIX
From Viatrix, a feminine form of the Late Latin name Viator which meant "voyager, traveller"...

DIETLINDE
From the Germanic name Þeudelind, derived from the elements þeud "people" and linde "soft, tender"...

FELICITAS
Late Latin name which meant "good luck, fortune"...

FRAUKE
Means "little lady", derived from German frau combined with a diminutive suffix.

FRIEDE
Short form of feminine names containing the Germanic element frid or fried meaning "peace".
(this one goes with the "hippy-ness" of the bus-peace-)

HEILWIG
Derived from the Germanic elements heil "happy, hearty, healthy" and wig "war".

HULDA
Derived from archaic Swedish huld meaning "sweet, lovable".

INGEBORG
From the Old Norse name Ingibjörg, which was derived from the name of the Norse god ING combined with björg meaning "protection, help".
