Usually we don't have much planned, so without much hesitation, we decided to head to Augusta. As we rolled up, we were driving through the 'lesser developed' part of town. Most of the buildings looked so sad. They were out of business, had boarded up windows (or broken ones) and the place just looked worn down. But, there was one sweet building that was no longer in business (unfortunately): A white painted cinder block square building with 'Dance Party written in huge letters on the side. We left Crowder's Mountain State Park and dipped down to South Carolina only to drive back up to find Gorges State Park. Online the pictures looked sweet. Once we arrived, we found that only half of the park was actually opened. The crumby half. Hiking for hours, we didn't see any of the waterfalls that were advertised. Our trail wasn't even a hiking trail. It was more of a 4x4 worn out dirt road that just seemed to wind around a somewhat bland mountain. Maybe it was the time of year, but this place did claim to sorta represent that of a rain forest. I know,
